Ahae 'Through my Window' in the Tuileries

 In > art culture design

Hyperactive South Korean artist, entrepreneur and environmentalist Ahae has been taking photos since the 70s. For his latest project Through My Window he took over a million photos over a period of two years all from just one window of his studio. Ahae captures landscapes and wildlife in all four seasons; he takes us from morning’s first light to the day’s last glimmer, through all the mood swings of the seasons as they change, and through the movements of the sun and the moon. The exhibition is organised by the Louvre and exhibited in a custom pavilion set up in the SE corner of the Tuileries; two oval rooms focus on Ahae’s sky and water works and recall the neighbouring Orangerie’s rooms displaying Monet’s revolutionary paintings that also hover on the brink of abstraction and figuration.
Until 19 Aug.
