Alice Springs at the Maison Européene de la Photo

 In > art culture design

Overlapping the Helmut Newton show at the Grand Palais by a few weeks is this retrospective from Helmut Newton’s wife and partner in crime June. Under the pseudonym Alice Springs (a nod to her native Australia), June created her own photographic works from 1970, after Helmut had her shoot a campaign for Gitanes in his place when he was down with the flu. This retrospective provides for the first time a comprehensive look at the four decades that span her work, presenting photographs from advertising and fashion as well as nudes and her many portraits, which read like a ‘who’s who’ of the international cultural scene on both sides of the Atlantic.
Until 4 Nov. 11am-8pm. Closed Mon, Tue.
