French label April, May has just opened its first store in the Marais. Co-founded by designer Dianne Goldstein in 2005, the label dresses the younger, trendier set, with a chic collection of clothing perfect for your next grunge show. In their new location, they’ve managed to complement this sentiment nicely with the shop’s lightly painted, wooden floorboards and naked, concrete walls. Dealing womenswear exclusively, the store offers a wide array of jackets, skirts, sweaters, and more, inspired by the likes of Rothko, Soulages, and Klimt. Goldstein has taken her influences, though, and applied her own unique, contemporary twist to them, resulting  in a bold, brash style that demands to be heard. With prices at 50% off for the month of January, one shouldn’t find too much difficulty in listening.
