Scouring the most emblematic or mysterious sites in Paris, French photographer Bettina Rheims presents a fictional portrait of her native city. The story, conceived in collaboration with the writer Serge Bramly, presents the adventures of a female Fantômas figure who disguises herself, appears and disappears into an intimate Paris, photographed in black and white. A modern rêverie inspired by one of the main figures of the Belle Epoque, a tribute to a myth that fascinated the surrealist artists, it’s also a very personal vision that uses autobiographical details to portray hidden aspects of the city through a variety of characters who belong to Bettina Rheims and Serge Bramly’s circle of friends (including Monica Belluci, Charlotte Rampling, Naomi Campbell…).
