Balenciaga & Comme des Garçons at Docks en Seine

Currently closed for renovations until 2013, the Musée Galliera, Paris’s magnificent fashion museum, is pursuing its policy of extramural exhibitions, under the guidance of its with-it director Olivier Saillard. It is presenting simultaneous exhibitions at new fashion and design hub Docks en Seine, one devoted to Cristobal Balenciaga, the other to Comme des Garçons, and opening to the public next Friday 13. Forty years after the death of Balenciaga, the exhibition presents an overview of the master’s career. It is accompanied by a presentation – staged in collaboration with Rei Kawakubo – of contemporary genius Comme des Garçons’ current collection, the dramatic monochrome White Drama.
