'Diana Vreeland, The Eye Has to Travel' out now
A new documentary celebrating the life of “Empress of Fashion” Diana Vreeland was released world-wide last week. The intimate portrait is directed by Vreeland’s granddaughter-in-law, who had rare access to private archives and family friends, and made its debut at the Venice Film Festival last year. Praised as “a living work of art,’ the film allows the viewer an intimate look into the life and career of the socialite turned fashion journalist and later editor of Harper’s Bazaar then Vogue US, one of the most influential women of the twentieth century, an enduring icon who has had a strong influence on the course of fashion, beauty, publishing and culture.
