Doisneau 'Paris Les Halles' at the Hôtel de Ville

Robert Doisneau took his first photo of Paris’ central food market Les Halles in 1933, and remained faithful to this bustling, popular district, the “belly of Paris” as Zola called it, for 40 years, constantly returning to visit it and to follow its changes and developments until it was knocked down in 1971. As the Halles undergoes a new metaphorphosis, this is an opportunity to experience a lost chapter of the city’s history.
