Douglas Gordon at Yvon Lambert
Berlin-based Glaswegian artist Douglas Gordon’s sixth exhibition ‘Phantom’ at Lambert opens today. New works, including a neon (Unfinished) and two installations (I am also Hyde & Phantom!) explores his own fragile human condition. I am also Hyde is an autobiographical installation, with a distended notion of time, staged and presented as an open diary showing the artist’s images, photographs, drawings and personal belongings. For the first time in his practice, Douglas completely focuses on revealing his own story. The 2nd installation Phantom! includes a video collaboration between Gordon and the singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. The two have been working together for a while now, with Gordon producing the visuals for Wainwright’s 2010 All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu album tour.
