FILM: Pedro Costa Retrospective at the Cinémathèque Française

The Cinémathèque Française is hosting a restrospective of renowned Portugese filmmaker Pedro Costa. Since his first feature film Le Sang in 1989, Costa has been regularly featured at international film festivals, including at Cannes last year with his latest film Ne Change Rien, starring French actress Jeanne Balibar. His work, shot with a hand-held mini-DV camera, often focuses on the everyday lives of those living on the fringes of society in Lisbon’s favelas. On Wed 13 Jan at 6pm there will be a book signing with the director in the bookshop of the Cinémathèque, followed at 7pm by a conversation hosted by Bernard Benoliel. Tickets available here.
