The new footwear designer at Dior, Francesco Russo has just opened a very first boutique/ atelier for his luxury namesake line. If Francesco Russo the brand was only launched last September, the man is no newcomer to the fashion scene. During his time at YSL under the direction of Tom Ford and Stefano Pilati, he designed the signature Tribute line and the famous Cage Boots. And as artistic director at Sergio Rossi, he created notably for Spring 2013 a collection in homage to Memphis design. In his elegantly dilapidated store behind the Palais Royal, each pair of shoes is displayed on its own rough wooden pedestal. Russo takes a sculptural approach to shoe design and uses exceptional materials such as crocodile and haircalf leather… prices start at 500€.
