LE COQ

 In > party

The owner of London cocktail hotspots 69 Colebrooke Row and Zetter Townhouse Tony Conigliaro has just opened his first bar in Paris Le Coq, behind République. If you were expecting a 19th-century cabinet of curiosities vibe, think again. Very simply decorated, the place has more of a squat or London warehouse party feel, with a tiled floor and raw or black walls. And there’s a nod to the 70s, with a soundtrack covering Serge Gainsbourg, Leonard Cohen, Marianne Faithful and David Bowie. As for the drinks (11€), the team has sourced old fashioned French ingredients such as chartreuse or liqueur d’ambrette for an original menu of 12 cocktails that pay homage to a French heritage.
6pm-2am, Closed Sun.
12 rue du Château d’Eau, 10th. www.barlecoq.com/
