Hôtel Jules & Jim

 In > sleep

The hype started last summer with some demolition-style parties when the hotel was still under construction. But Paris’ first ‘gay-friendly’ boutique hotel has finally opened. Its 23 chic and comfortable rooms are spread across a purpose-built building and two houses, and give on to either Paris rooftops or the charming paved interior courtyard that features a magnificent vertical garden. The fit-out has a focus on simple, durable materials such as glass, wood, stone, and concrete. But all comfort is included, from air-conditioning to docks for your iPod and free wi-fi. Prices range in low season from 180€ for the smallest room, to 550€ in high season for the duplex apartment. On the ground floor, you’ll find the light and airy bar, breakfast room and library, plus the hotel lobby which doubles as a contemporary photo gallery, with works for sale, and these zones are worth a visit whether you’re a hotel guest or not.
