'In The Loop' out today

Satirical master Armando Iannucci’s In the Loop is a spin-off from his BBC documentary style comedy, The Thick of It, and sticks very closely to its original format in showing up the risibility of politics and its hapless band of government employees. A few famous names step into the secondary roles to make it feel more like a film, notably James Gandolfini as a sedentary General, and Steve Coogan as an irritated provincial constituent. Add the flair of Washington DC and a world on the brink of a dodgy war, vicious witticism and superb one-liners swirl thick and fast with the fierce Peter Capaldi from the original TV show unremittingly stealing the foul-mouthed thunder.
