'Intense Proximity' at the Palais de Tokyo

 In > art culture design

Running through the summer at the Palais de Tokyo is the 3rd edition of the contemporary art triennial exhibition (formerly known as ‘La Force de l’Art’), La Triennale. Via the theme ‘Intense Proximity’, La Triennale investigates what it means to be active as an artist working today, in the context of a globalized and diverse French art scene. The artistic director, the American Okwui Enwezor, proposes a broad, stimulating panorama of contemporary art that aims to explore potential areas of dialogue between various artistic disciplines and cultural scenes. La Triennale is the first exhibition to occupy a radically expanded and refurbished Palais de Tokyo (8,000 m² to 22,000 m²!), whose surface now runs down to the Seine. The truly monumental space is a powerful new territory for the art of our times.
Until 26 Aug. Tue-Sun, noon-midnight.
Palais de Tokyo, 13 av du Président Wilson, 16th. M° Iéna. 01.47.23.38.86. www.palaisdetokyo.com/
