LA TRESORERIE
This new homeware bazaar with an elegant Scandinavian vibe is located inside a former public revenue office (hence the name) just across the road from Le Coq bar, near Place de la République. The XXL space is filled with light beaming in from the glass roof and displays a wonderfully curated and fairly priced selection of functional pieces from European brands, covering everything from Danish furniture, environmentally friendly paint, crockery, enamelware and ovenware, to rattan rugbeaters and brushes for cleaning mushrooms. Like Merci, they have a house textiles label, featuring quality monochrome towels, tablecloths and other linen. Every product is fully labelled with its brand and country of origin, and the shop is committed to materials with low environmental impact. The on-site Café Smörgas offers a short organic Swedish salad and sandwich menu for breakfast and lunch, plus Belleville coffee.
