LE PERCHOIR
One of the hottest new addresses over the summer has been Le Perchoir, a new bar that opened on the quiet in late June. Located on a rooftop off the Rue Oberkampf, the place flaunts an exceptional panoramic view over the city. If New York and London have plenty of rooftoop options, Paris is largely limited to luxury hotels or the Pompidou Centre’s Georges. With a relaxed and comfortable vibe (once you make it past the door bi-atch), there’s a plenty of comfortable seats scattered amongst the pot-plants, or else you can cluster around the bar. Drinks range from 5€ for a demi Grolsch, to 12€ for a cocktail, including the Mojito Granita, or 6€ for a glass of wine. There’s also a bar menu including plates of freshly sliced pata negra or hot snacks cooked to order on the BBQ. With a license for only 110 guests, it’s worth turning up early for a chance of making it inside.
Wed-Sun, 5pm-2am. 14 rue Crespin du Gast, 11th. 01.48.06.18.48. leperchoir.fr/

This is going on my list of places to visit next time I’m in Paris. Can’t beat that view of Montmartre at sunset. Thanks for the tip.
