MANNEQUIN – CORPS DE LA MODE AT DOCKS EN SEINE

 In > art culture design

A collection of fashion photography with a difference – this exhibition, curated by the still-under-renovation Musée Galliera, views these works from the perspective of the model, rather than the photographer. Originally presented at last year’s edition of the Rencontres d’Arles photo fest, the show explores ideas of body shape, personality and artistic representation via 120 photographs, 10 films and 40 magazines spanning the 19th century to today. Nick Knight, Juergen Teller, Helmut Newton and others give us a new perspective on fashion, allowing us to see the industry through the eyes of its most prominent subjects, transformed from simple display pieces into living, breathing icons.
Until 23 June. 10am-6pm. Closed Mon. 6€/ 3€
