Martin Parr at the Institut des Cultures d'Islam

 In > art culture design

The prize for the most surprising exhibition this spring goes to the Martin Parr show currently on at the Islamic Cultural Centre in the heart of the multicultural Goutte d’Or neighbourhood. The British photographer took a certain innocence about the area, commonly perceived as a Muslim ghetto, and his astute documentary eye to a week-long January residency to produce a series of about 30 photos, plus a slideshow of another 100 or so images, demonstrating the photographer’s colourful, human and often humourous take on this unique Parisian community.
Until 2 July. Tue-Sat, 3-8pm. Free entry.
