MUSIQUE PLASTIQUE at Galerie du Jour agnès b.

In > art culture design, > party

After Jeunes Gens Modernes, a new group show at the Galerie du Jour explores the relationship between the visual arts and music, and it opens tonight (6-9pm)! Why choose between Elvis and Duchamp, Botticelli or Sonic Youth, Kraftwerk or Warhol, Matthew Barney or Debussy ? Some artists refuse to make this decision, and instead develop a sort of double practice, exploring both fields, people like Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) or Brian DeGraw (Gang Gang Dance)… Musique Plastique is a series of concerts/performances/workshops/ conferences, as well as a catalogue and a compilation. Tonight, expect to bump into talents like Philippe Katerine, Tobias Bernstrup, Jonas Mekas at the opening, and get ready for a performance from Alan Vega (Suicide) in mid February for the launch of the show’s fanzine/ catalogue.
Until 2 Apr.
Tue-Sat, noon-7pm. Galerie du Jour agnès b, 44 rue Quincampoix, 4th. M° Rambuteau. 01.44.54.55.90. www.galeriedujour.com/
