'ONLY PARTS OF US WILL EVER TOUCH PARTS OF OTHERS' AT THADDAEUS ROPAC
Don’t miss this group show, covering 20 years of artistic practice, from the nineties until today and curated by Timothée Chaillou. ‘Only parts of us will ever touch parts of others’ plays with the ideas of the patterns and associations that form our multi-layered lives. Focused on the ideas of collage, montage and fragmentation, a variety of media – works on paper, paintings, sculptures and videos – from artists including John M Armleder, Pierre Bismuth, Urs Fischer, Claude Lévêque, Linder, Mathieu Mercier, Lawrence Weiner, and Cerith Wyn Evans, are presented and then re-presented using superimposition and mirrors. This fragmentation reflects the partial and distorted realities back out to the world, mimicking the incompletion of our own interpretations and memories. PS They’re launching the catalogue (20€) this Sat 12 Jan, 6.30-8.30pm.
Until 19 Jan.
