After 4 months of final renovations during which the arts centre has been closed to the public, the Palais de Tokyo prepares to reopen mid-April. The centre has expanded from 8,000 m2 to 22,000 m2, transformed to welcome more artists, more visitors, more surprises, and with a new team headed by curator Jean de Loisy taking care of the Palais’ program. Come behind the scenes to see its metamorphosis for an exciting preliminary opening party running 30 hours non-stop from next Thu 12 Apr, 8pm, with a broad program of events, performances, and concerts from the likes of Christophe & Daniel Buren, La Chatte, Matthew Herbert, Christian Marclay & Phil Minton… The “new” Palais de Tokyo will then officially reopen on Thu 19 April with the 3rd edition of La Triennale (formerly “La Force de l’Art”) which will investigate, via the theme of “Intense Proximity”, what it means to be active as an artist today.
8pm, Thu 12-Fri 13 Apr, midnight.
