RON MUECK AT FONDATION CARTIER

 In > art culture design

Opening to the public today is this new solo show from the London-based Australian sculptor Ron Mueck. This is his first major exhibition in Europe since the hugely successful show at the Fondation Cartier back in 2005. In addition to 6 important recent sculptures the show includes 3 new works produced especially for the event. Except for their distorted scale – the figures are either too big or too small – Mueck’s sculptures seem disconcertingly real. By pushing likeness to its limits Mueck creates works that are secret, meditative and mysterious. A documentary Ron Mueck at Work by Gautier Deblonde is presented in the exhibition too, giving you the opportunity to observe the artist’s very personal creative process.
Until 27 Oct. Tue-Sun, 11am-8pm.
Fondation Cartier, 261 bd Raspail, 14th. M° Raspail. 01.42.18.56.50. www.fondation.cartier.fr/
