Royal Monceau to reopen next week

 In > art culture design

Two years after possibly the wildest ‘demolition party’ in history, Paris’ newest palace hotel the Royal Monceau is set to reopen on Mon 18 Oct. Aside from Philippe Starck’s luxe-chic interiors, the hotel’s point of difference is a serious commitment to art. A ‘platform for contemporary creation’, the hotel has its own gallery Art District, which will launch with a bang with an inaugural Basquiat show, of works selected from Enrico Navarra’s collection, plus there’s an art bookshop and the hotel’s own blog Artforbreakfast. And there’s also a whiff of rock’n’roll, with each hotel room featuring its own guitar, with a portable recording studio available to guests. Trailblazing fashion multibrand L’Eclaireur will host a show room in the hotel too. Plus there’s a Clarins spa, Pierre Hermé desserts, a cigar smoking room, a cinema…
From 780€ per night. 37 ave Hoche, 8th.
