'She Monkeys' and 'All Good Children' out today

Two critically acclaimed debut features from young female directors hit the screens nationally today. UK filmmaker Alicia Duffy been tipped as British cinema’s hot new talent. Her first feature All Good Children, which premièred at Cannes in 2010 for the Directors’ Fortnight, is at last released in France. Following two brothers packed off to France after the death of their mother, the film is set in a children’s world, and manages to be both magical and chilling. She Monkeys (Voltiges) is a Swedish film by Danish director Lisa Aschan, and won best feature at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. This coming-of-age drama flirts with western and thriller styles to chill, excite and disturb. (FT)
