Silencio 'Carte Blanche' by David Lynch
New super club Silencio launches its ‘Carte Blanche’ cultural program tonight with the club’s star patron David Lynch. He’ll be exhibiting a series of photos of the new club. He’s invited Barista World Champ Troels Poulsen to make the coffee. You’ll get to sample wines from the Estate Lynch Bages (…no relation). Lynch has also curated a selection of books for the reading room, including Dostoevsky’s ‘Crime & Punishment’, Kafka’s ‘Metamorphosis’, ‘The Art Spirit’ by Robert Henri, ‘Name Above the Title’ by Frank Capra… Plus he’s had a hand in the musical programme with, tonight, The Kills; Sat 22, Au Revoir Simone; Sun 23, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis; Mon 24, Gary Clark Jr; Wed 27, Lykke Li; and on Tue 26 David Lynch will give an exclusive preview of his new electro album ‘Crazy Clown Time’, out on 7 Nov! For the auditorium, the director has also put together a cinema program (7.30-11pm): Fri, ‘Mon Oncle’ by Jacques Tati; Sat, ‘Lolita’ by Stanley Kubrick; Sun, ‘8 1/2’ by Frederico Fellini; Mon, ‘Being There’ by Hal Ashby. Now you just have to work out how to get past the doorman…
