'STORYTELLING & POLITICS' Shakespeare & Co's literary festival
The third edition of Paris’ cult anglo bookshop’s biannual literary festival is coming up soon. Around the theme Storytelling and Politics there’s a whole program of free readings and discussions from exciting authors including Martin Amis, Fatima Bhutto on ‘Politics and violence in Pakistan’, Zena Edwards with her slam poetry, Hanif Kureishi, Philip Pullman, Will Self on ‘Sex, Death and Laughter in the Dark’, Jeanette Winterson, and many others. Between events, storytellers will be randomly roaming the square recounting stories. There will also be books in French at a L’arbre à Lettres stand, delicious coffee at the Caféothèque stand and unbelievable sandwiches at the Bob’s Kitchen stand. During the festival, Shakespeare & Co. will also be launching a literary magazine and a literary prize. Find the compete program on the festival website.
