Takashi Murakami at Emmanuel Perrotin

 In > art culture design

Opening next Thu (4-10pm), and during the FIAC, is this new show from the Japanese pop master, ‘Homage to Yves Klein’: ‘I think that we would all agree that colour is one of the most important elements of my work, and when we observe Yves Klein’s life, the reason why becomes striking, tangible. Colour is like Zen buddhism in Japan, a tool which can instantly guide one to a world outside oneself, which escapes us. I would like to dedicate this exhibition to the artist who pursued colour the most passionately , Yves Klein’. Murakami confronts his work with that of the pioneering French artist; nine new paintings by Murakami will be on show, along side 6 of Klein’s monochromes.
Until 7 Jan. Tue-Sat, 10am-7pm.
