'Vitrines sur l'Art' at the Galeries Lafayette

For the 3rd year in a row, the department store Galeries Lafayette hands its windows over to 8 Parisian cultural institutions, including two new participants for 2011 the Gaîté Lyrique and Le Bal: Le Bal reconstitutes the gallery CAMP, the first independent photography gallery set up in Tokyo in 1979;  the Gaîté Lyrique invites the collective Ill-Studio to create an original installation, in reference to their current show Public Domaine, dedicated to skateboard culture; the Centre Pompidou collaborates with two artists from current show ‘Paris-Delhi-Bombay’; the Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine will explore nature in the city; in echo with it’s current show ‘My Winnipeg’, La Maison Rouge presents a slide show in partnership with the Manitoba Museum; the Musée d’art Moderne invites artist Ariane Michel to make a selection from its permanent collection; the Arts Décoratifs references its exhibition ‘Plastique Ludique’ of toys by Czech designer Libuse Niklova; and finally the Palais de Tokyo invites the artist Jean-François Leroy to create a site-specific installation.
