Warhol Remix at the Cité de la Musique

In > art culture design, > party

A two-part multimedia homage to Warhol at the Cité de la Musique tonight features Scanner (aka Robin Rimbaud), a London based artist and ‘technology terrorist’, who has taken interview material with Andy Warhol from the early 1970s as the starting point for a soundtrack in which he transforms the artifice of Warhol’s voice and explores the eloquence and omnipresence of the idea of boredom which surrounds the pop artist. Part II features NY folk duo Dean & Britta who were commissioned by The Warhol Museum to write and perform songs to accompany 13 of Andy Warhol’s screen tests, shot between 1964 and 1966 at Warhol’s Factory studio in New York City. Subjects include Nico, Lou Reed, Edie Sedgwick, Dennis Hopper, and more. Book here.
8pm. 24€/20€.
