Zombie Zombie at Club NME, Elysée Montmartre (Jan 30th)

 In > party

Frankly the most compelling electronic duo around, Zombie Zombie proved an impossible first act to follow at the 5th Club NME with their hoard of vintage synths, undulating theremin and wild yet meticulous live drumming. Machine man Etienne Jaumet (also in The Married Monk and a regular DJ in Paris) and percussionist screamer CosmicNeman (who moonlights as the drummer for the anti-folk outfit Herman Dune) put the rest to shame with their intensely evil-tinged analogue soundscapes, redolent of the BBC Radiophonic workshop pioneers of the late 50s and 60s, and 70s organ and drum machine experimentalists, Suicide. Recently nominated for the Rough Trade album of the year, you can hear what all the fuss is about here. Krautrock fans are bound to be pleased.
