Germain by India Mahdavi

The talented interior designer India Mahdavi signs her first public space in Paris with Germain, a fantastic new St Germain café/ restaurant set up by one of the Costes clan. A hybrid of 50s diner, chess board, and 30s art-deco space, its centrepiece is an oversized and highheeled sculpture ‘Sophie’ by the man of the moment Xavier Veilhan (currently exhibiting at Versailles) which cuts through the ceiling into the restaurant’s upstairs (VIP) quarters. Thanks Rebecca Leffler, our favourite Paris cinephile, for taking us there.
