'La Parisienne, Roman' at the Galerie des Galeries

 In > art culture design

Hipster journalist couple Sofia Achaval and Thibault de Montaigu have been invited by the Galerie des Galeries to conjure up the apartment of a fictional Parisian woman. The idea is to reconstruct the interior life of an imaginary woman by working out the different spaces that form her private world: bedroom, bathroom, living room, walk-in closet, office… A team of creative individuals have been invited to forge the history and personality of this woman: novelist and art critic Catherine Millet selects the art collection; artist and writer Valérie Mréjen gets hold of her thoughts by leaving various messages scattered around the apartment; the composer Bertrand Burgalat imagines her taste in music; the artist Laetitia Benat reveals the hidden soul of this doodler and draughtsman; while photographer Annelies Strba revisits her past, and an actor lends his famous voice to telephone messages left by a lover.
Until 4 June. Tue-Sat, 9.30am-7.30pm (9pm, Thu).
La Galerie des Galeries, 1st floor, Galeries Lafayette, 40 bd Haussmann, 9th. www.galeriedesgaleries.com
