On the 20th anniversary of their brand, the Dutch fashion duo has just opened a first flagship worldwide, here in Paris, where they already present their collections each season. Taking over the former (Andrée Putman designed) Anne Fontaine space opposite the Mandarin Oriental on the Rue Saint-Honoré, the monochrome, mono-material space is decked out in grey felt, a “ghost architecture” which references the duo’s first ever and all-grey collection in 2003. The ground floor displays women’s perfume and bags, with a few ready-to-wear teasers, but it’s in the massive basement that the complete collections for men and women are presented. Expect “conceptual glamour, provocative couture, rebellious sophistication, and unexpected elegance!”
