2010 Andam prize winner announced

The virtually unknown Turkish born, London based designer Hakaan Yildirim is the winner of Andam’s €220,000 prize. Hakaan put on his first ever (starstudded) show in London just last February, and was the revelation of the season. He won the prestigious French fashion prize over a talented shortlist, including Mark Fast; former Mugler designer Alexandre Vauthier; Francesco Scognamiglio; former Balenciaga and Christian Lacroix designer Bouchra Jarrar; and Calla Haynes, former collaborater of Olivier Theyskens. Along with the cash prize, the designer must also open a French company and so establish his brand in France.
