ATELIER VAN LIESHOUT AT THE CARPENTERS WORKSHOP GALLERY

Atelier Van Lieshout (AVL) is the studio and workshop of Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout and produces objects that balance on the boundary between art, architecture and design. This show Furniture III is an expanded version of the earlier London show Blastfurnace and presents recent and early collaborations with the gallery: an organically shaped sofa and lamps that are both realist and sensual with tables that are pretexts for the creation of micro-landscapes sculpted by the artist’s hand. Van Lieshout uses a huge range of production techniques, resin moulds, fibreglass, bronze, soldered steel.
