Christian Lacroix AD for 'L'Orient des femmes' at Quai Branly

In > art culture design, > shopping

The defrocked couturier Christian Lacroix turns his hand to the ‘art direction’ of this exhibition of traditional and secular costumes from the Near East. Lacroix has conceived the route through the exhibition as a poetical perambulation. It starts with the display of a 13th-century girl’s dress discovered during archaeological excavations in Lebanon, and ends with five white dresses embroidered with colours, forming the crowning piece; a nod to the traditional catwalk show which usually ends with the presentation of a wedding dress.
Until 15 May.
