The Book Club at Le Carmen

In > art culture design, > party

The dress code is simple. Bring a book. Well, you might want to wear clothes too, but the book’s the main thing. Tomorrow night sees the launch of The Book Club at Le Carmen, and the premise is simple. Bring a book you’ve loved, swap it for a book someone else has loved. Preferably not ‘Twilight’ or Jackie Collins. This is Le Carmen, haunt of Bizet and Kanye, with ceiling roses so fine you want to drink your own tears. But drink champagne instead, and leaf through pages as cult London songsmith Tom Rosenthal takes to the grand piano, pencil-moustachioed dandy David Piper comperes, and minimal DJs melt into the mini hours.
