Gagosian comes to Paris

 In > art culture design

Art giant Larry Gagosian will soon be opening a gallery in Paris (at 4 rue de Ponthieu in the 8th, just up the road from Christie’s and Sotheby’s), bringing to 9 the number of Gagosian Gallerys around the world (3 in New York, 2 in London, 1 in Los Angeles, Rome and Athens). Considered as the most influential gallerist in the world, Gagosian boasts some of the world’s most important artists in his stable (Chris Burden, Cindy Sherman, Douglas Gordon, Damien Hirst, Mike Kelley, Anselm Kiefer, Ed Ruscha, Richard Serra, Takashi Murakami, Cy Twombly, Jeff Koons…), and sells of course, to the world’s biggest collectors. The official reason for the move is to create the complete catalogue of Picasso sculptures. The big galleries here must be shaking in their boots.
