'Histoire idéale de la mode contemporaine' Volume I at Les Arts Decoratifs

Headbands, high hair, and bubble skirts – oh my! Following the Autumn 2009 release of his book, Histoire idéale de la mode contemporaine, fashion historian Olivier Saillard curates (the first ever) retrospective of contemporary fashion at Les Arts Decoratifs.  Part one of what will be a two-part exhibition features the most emblematic designers of the 70s and 80s: Yves Saint Laurent, Issey Miyake, Karl Lagerfeld, Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Azzedine Alaïa, Christian Lacroix, and Jean Paul Gaultier. (Volume II of the exhibition, covering the 1990s & 2000s, will run from 25  Nov-8 May 2011).
