HANY ARMANIOUS AT GALERIE ALLEN
Paris’s newest gallery introduces another fine artist to Parisian audiences. After representing Australia at the Venice Biennale in 2011 with an exhibition ‘The Golden Thread’ (watch Armanious talk about it here), the Sydney artist presents a new collection of resin sculptures, here copies of what appear to be bits of studio detritus: a bit of plaster, an offcut of wood, a plate, a cutting board. Fake ready-mades, illusions, hyperreal junk, sculptures but hung on walls, these intriguing pieces oscillate between subject and object and question the nature of art and objects.
