ROBERT WILSON AT THADDAEUS ROPAC

 In > art culture design

For his fourth exhibiton at Thaddaeus Ropac, the experimental American theatre giant Robert Wilson presents a number of video portraits of Lady Gaga. Filmed in 2011, the series presents Lady Gaga as she slowly morphs into different personas. Wilson was inspired by the work of painters Andrea Solario and Ingres, manipulating a number of their portraits in his work. Also presented is the making-of, Flying, a video collaboration between Wilson and Lady Gaga which shows the pair working together. “She is capable of changing character at an alarming speed,” he says. Wilson is also the subject of a carte-blanche at the Louvre this winter.
Until 11 Jan, 10am–7pm. Closed Sun, Mon.
