The Residents at the Centre Pompidou
Since the early 70s, ‘the most famous unknown band in the world’ as The Residents describe themselves, have been making fun of pop culture. With their new opus ‘The Talking Light Show’, the mythic Californian collective has created a crazed musical in which an elderly, terrifying and grotesque madman in a dressing-gown is looking death in the eyes and embraces it in a maniacal outburst of laughter. A crepuscular and spasmodic sound-track is broken by the lugubrious mewing of a harmonica…. Experience it in all its avant-garde glory at the Centre Pompidou.
Wed 10-Thu 11 Nov, 8.30pm. 18€, 14€. Grande Salle. Centre Pompidou, rue Beaubourg, 4th. www.centrepompidou.fr/
