FRENCHIE TO GO
Paris chef Gregory Marchand continues to put the Sentier’s Rue du Nil on the map. After his always booked out contemporary market driven affair Frenchie arrived in 2009, followed by the wine bar with the no booking policy in 2011, yesterday the take out satellite Frenchie To Go opened. Its American (with a touch of the UK) menu features all-day breakfast snacks including bacon muffin (6.50€) or granola (5€) and lunch recipes such as the Reuben’s sandwich (12€), hotdog (8€) or excellent fish & chips (14€), which are all served with a delicious selection of home-made sauces. You can also order the pastrami or the smoked beef sausages used in the hotdogs by the kilo. There’s an extensive international menu of bottled and draught beer, plus delicious home-made lemonade (4€) and ginger beer (5€). And it hasn’t taken long for word to get out: after opening only yesterday, today there was already an eager queue at the counter.
8.30am-6pm. Closed Sun, Mon.
9 rue du Nil, 2nd. www.frenchie-restaurant.com/
