LOBSTER BAR

 In > eat & coffee

Until now, to get a lobster sandwich fix here you had to book into St Germain’s chichi Ralph’s (30€ for the Lobster Club), or wait for Daniel Rose’s annual lobster roll fest each summer at Spring. All aboard, Paris’s first lobster bar is now open! Owner Mathieu Mercier has joined the dots between Cape Cod, Brittany and New York to set up this simple little spot serving a unique dish of lobster roll, home-made fries and salad for 26€. The sweet Brittany lobster (about 90-100g) is enhanced with a drizzle of mayonnaise, a dash of tarragon and Tabasco, and served in a soft briochy bun. Fries are prepared to go from Charlotte potatoes and fried in olive oil. There’s fishy tapas to start too, if you like, with tarama, crab and sea urchin dip (4/5€) or fresh sea bass or abalone dip (9€). Finish up with a home-made brownie or cider cake (7€) and there’s a short but quality list of wine, cider, champagne and digestives. The slick décor has a maritime theme and the place is moored happily in between Les Halles and Place des Victoires.
Noon-2.30pm; 8-10.30pm. Closed Sun, Mon.
