M to M of M/M (Paris)

 In > art culture design

Published to mark their 20th anniversary, this chunky new monograph – conceived as a reshuffled dictionary that starts with the letter ‘M’ on page 311 – presents twenty years of work by M/M (Paris), one of the most emblematic and influential design practices of the day. Michaël Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak originally established M/M (Paris) as a graphic design studio in 1992. Their close associations with the music, fashion and art worlds have led to their becoming one of the most distinctive voices of their generation. The monograph includes collaborations with Balenciaga, Yohji Yamamoto, Björk, and Madonna and interviews with some of their closest collaborators such as Björk, Nicolas Ghesquière, Pierre Huyghe, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Sarah Morris or Glenn OBrien, as well as Amzalag and Augustyniak themselves. The book is edited by Emily King design editor at Frieze magazine, designed by London’s Graphic Thought Facility and published by Thames & Hudson (42£).
