MARJANE SATRAPI AT JÉRÔME DE NOIRMONT

 In > art culture design

Opening to the public today is an exhibition of paintings by Marjane Satrapi, the celebrated graphic novelist and Cannes award-winning animated filmmaker (Persepolis). And if she has never revealed it before now, painting is in fact the basis of all her creation. For the first time Satrapi unveils this hidden side of her artistic talents with 21 new or recent portraits of women painted in a clear-cut chromatic range of bold colour with very constructed compositions. Primarily interested in human relationships, Satrapi’s portraits have an obvious narrative character that presents the human relationships we experience every day. The subjects’ sideways glances invite us to decipher the mystery of their thoughts…
Until 23 Mar. 11am-7pm. Closed Sun.
