VANESSA WINSHIP AT FONDATION HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON

 In > art culture design

Last days for this show ‘She Dances on Jackson’ by UK documentary photographer Vanessa Winship (Agence Vu). Winner of last year’s prestigious Henri Cartier-Bresson prize, Winship took off on an American odyssey for this exhibition, travelling from California to Virginia, from New Mexico to Montana, following cranes from Canada, tracking down isolated souls. Winship is interested in the concepts of borders, land, desire, identity, history, memory, and about how those histories and identities are told and expressed. A collection of texts from Winship’s personal journals and emails complements the images, giving the audience a peak into the artist’s inner world and helping them understand the stories behind the photos. Ends Sun.
Until 28 July. 1-6.30pm (8.30pm Wed); Sat 11am-6.45pm. Closed Mon.
2 impasse Lebouis, 14th. www.henricartierbresson.org/
