In collaboration with Marc Jacobs, quirky New York writer Stephanie LaCava launches her début book, the memoir An Extraordinary Theory of Objects, here in Paris on Wednesday at BookMarc (6pm), then at Shakespeare & Co on Fri 1 Feb, 7pm. This is an illustrated collection of original narratives revolving around an expatriate’s coming of age in Paris, told in curious objects. “A series of illustrated essays that unfolds in cinematic fashion, An Extraordinary Theory of Objects offers a universal lesson—to harness the power of creativity to cope with loneliness, sadness, and disappointment to find wonder in the uncertainty of the future.” Stephanie has also designed a cute range of products to tie in with the illustrations in her book with Marc Jacobs; see the line here. (Londoners: the book launches tonight 7pm at BookMarc London, 1 Bloomsbury Street.)
